138/365 Inspiration

This may not look like much but this is my father in law, who is blind, throwing in a dart game while we were at the boardwalk. He is really quite amazing, but I must admit we did keep the kids back a bit for this!!

137/365 Stripes

Gotta love the stripes on this big clown. Sean did not want to sit there for the picture but in the end he was a good sport for me :)

136/365 sandy

We went to Point Pleasant for father's day with my husband's father, and his brother. Here Sean was walking through the sand while the older boys went on some "big boy rides."

Out my window (make your own theme)

I was driving home tonight to a very unhappy sky and as I drove closer it became a VERY mean sky! The dark patch in the back is where I had to go and boy were there thunderstorms :( It seems like we have had nothing but rain for weeks. I took this with my new cell phone so it's not very clear but it did the trick!

134/365 Things that go

Well this is my sisters boat, wave runner and her ocean kayak..they all "go!"

133/365 Big Event

This may not look like a "big event" to many, but to my little guy Sean this was HUGE! Last year he freaked when we tried to take him in the water but this year my nephew Ryan was able to get him in the water the first time out. It took him a little while, and thank goodness that Ryan was patient, but he eventually let go and walked in the water alone!! YEAH!! now on to swimming lessons

132/365 The Wild Side

This is my oldest Adam thinking he is "just all that" as he took a ride on my sister's wave runner.

131/365 Black and White

My husband Chris looked very nice in his black and white tuxedo all dressed for the affair that honored his father.

130/365 Fashion

This was taken a few weeks ago (still catching up) my father in law was honored as humanitarian of the year at Seton Hall University. You can check his foundation out here http://www.facebook.com/ext/share.php?sid=86645867709&h=iSI-W&u=TiGif&ref=nf . I labeled this fashion because since I lost 45 pounds I have to relearn how to dress. My mom fitted me for this dress and all the accessories and I felt awesome!

129/365 Graduation (make your own theme)

This has been a crazy few months my little guy here Sean is finishing pre-school, my older son Adam finished Kindergarten, I finished another bike tour this time 45 miles and work is as busy as ever. Please bear with me I'm going to try and catch up.

128/365 On the Water

I couldn't help but take a picture of the gulls surrounding the boat while we were on the bay. They are beautiful while they are in the air but darn if they aren't annoying little scavengers. This was taken at Tyses Shoal it's the very end of Island beach state Park in NJ, hundreds of boats dock on the weekends here and then walk over the dunes to a private beach on the Ocean. It is just gorgeous.

127/365 Perfect Alignment

These are the new pavers outside my parents beach house. They made a deck and leveled off the property which makes for an awesome seating area!

126/365 Take a bow (make your own #10)

Lol I was looking at the theme list and nothing seemed to fit then I started playing on words and this one still makes me laugh. I wish this was a boat junkyard but it's actually an eyesore that is close to my mom's beach house. Three boats and none worth the paint they have on them - I'm sure at one point someone had a lot of fun with them

125/365 Rest in Peace

I didn't take this photo - I wish I could have because that would mean that my grandparents were still here, but they have been gone almost 20 years and I miss them as much as ever. This is my Jiddaw and Siddaw (Syrian for grandma and grandpa) and they were the best anyone could ask for. I used to stop over their house on the way home from college each Friday night and my jiddaw would always make sure I had $5.00 gas money (which he saved from his Bingo winnings) and they always had food waiting for me. They always wanted to know how everything was going and were so upset when I had to leave . My Siddaw had very bad arthritis, worse than I have ever seen even now after being a therapist for 15 years- but I never ever heard her complain. She is my hero and I hope that I have a little of her strength in me.

I miss you both so much
I will love you always

124/365 Garden Treasure (Make your own #9)

My mom has a ton of little garden statues but this one always makes me smile.

123/365 Stepping Stones (make your own #8)

These are stepping stones that go down the side of my parents beach house.

122/365 Pink

This was a pink azalea plant in front of my mom's beach house. The flowers were all blossomed it is a beautiful bush.

121/365 Fairs

Oh I am sooo behind :( With the warm weather I am trying to get out and do some yard work and keep up my biking so unfortunately this has taken a hit :( I have a ton of pictures I just need to post them so please scroll up and take a peek

This is my dad and Sean on a tilt a whirl at a local fair. I can't go on anything that spins so my dad was gracious to volunteer to take Sean and he had a great time :) Thanks dad!!

120/365 Legs

I set up my camera for my sister to take a picture of my husband and I and she thought it was hysterical that I stand on my toes when I take a photo with him. Well I am over a foot shorter than Chris so I kind of have to tip toe when I am wearing flats :( Anyway I thought this was cute when I was going through my photos so I thought I would share.

119/365 What's for Dinner

mmmm stuffed pork loin on the BBQ! This is my sister showing off her culinary skills! It really was fantastic!

118/365 Blue

My niece plays soccer and my nephew plays hockey...wow what a difference in the two sports!! Hockey is way to fast for me to keep up with but it was very cool watching my nephew skate like that! I noticed how blue the shirts were and the bench was also blue so I went with it :)

117/365 Underneath

Adam was hiding underneath the bleachers while we were watching my niece's soccer game...ummm I can see you Adam!!

116/365 Sweets

Mmmmm I love marshmallows!! In celebration of nursing home week it was sweets day at work today and I just thought this would be a fun shot. Tomorrow is health and fitness day ....lol

115/365 Girl

This is my niece - she is actually the princess because from my sisters and I we have 8 boys and 1 girl. I love this picture of her...we spent a great deal of yesterday teasing her because she wants to wear makeup...I think she looks beautiful just as she is :)

114/365 They make me a mom (make your own #7)

Ok so I would have loved to post a picture of my mom but she will NOT let me take her picture. I tried sneaking one today but she would have killed me if she saw it! So I'll just say to my mom happy mother's day and thank you for being my role model and for giving me the guidance to be the mom I am today. Thank you for being my best friend and for always giving me encouraging words to achieve my goals. I love you mom!!

Now my boys are well known to my blog already but they make me a mom! I love being their mom and I couldn't have picked 2 more special boys if I had tried. Thank you Adam and Sean for making me proud to be your mom every single day! I love you both so much

And to all the mom's out there...Happy Mother's Day!

113/365 Snacktime

Sean is a messy eater on a good day but today he was really enjoying this cupcake and just dove right in!!

112/365 Thrilling

We had a great time watching my niece's soccer game and I was just shooting away when SHE scored a goal. I captured the ball as it went into the net and boy was it thrilling to watch her reaction!!

111/365 Silly

This is Sean after a full round of silliness - we were shooting each other with a hose because the weather was so beautiful (last week!)

110/365 Street Scenes

It was an amazing sight to see so many bikers lined up on the streets of Manhattan. For blocks as far as the eyes could see.

109/365 Goal

Ok I did it!! The NYC 5 boro bike tour - 42 miles in the POURING rain!! I felt awesome, no problems with the biking at all. The pace was very slow because of the conditions so it took us 5 hours (I also figure we had to walk the bikes a few miles becuase of the congestion.)

I realized last night that I biked 42 miles and to date I have lost 42 pounds so this was a really great day for me!

So now I can put my focus back on the blog and get caught up (that is until my next adventure!!)

Thanks for everyone's support it means so much to me
Candy

Sunday, April 26, 2009

Ok so I am really trying to catch up here!! I don't expect anyone to comment on them all but I posted 10 photos today. I'd love for you to see some so please scroll down a bit and take a glance. Thanks so much for all your support!
Candy

108/365 Puzzle

Ok this was just for fun, I saw the theme and remembered I just organized my actions today so I used the Panosfx action to create the puzzle. This shot was taken again while I was standing inside the pine tree - I was trying to shoot the bright sunset.

107/365 Purple

Dang these weeds!!! I hate picking these even more because they are kind of pretty but darn if they don't have vines that just get into everything! Little purple buggers!!

106/365 Abandoned

This is my lovely vegetable garden sadly abandoned by me last year :( I just couldn't find the time. Well this year I will not let this area down, I will sweat, curse and clean it up if it kills me! Ughhh...I still have to find the time :( I am very motivated by the thought of all the money I will save on tomatoes and cucumbers this year! I'll have to post a new pic once it's all cleaned up.

105/365 Grass

I got a little ambitious a few weeks back and tore up an uneven portion of my lawn and filled it in. Unfortunately now I have to grow grass there. I loaded up the area with seeds and covered it with some leaves and such but the darn birds removed all of the leaves and twigs for their nests. I was just thinking tonight that the grass is never going to grow when low and behold I see some new growth!! YEAH!!

104/365 Leaves

I love this little bush in my backyard, the whole thing flowers up pink and then these beautiful red leaves appear. The only draw back is the little pink flowers make a mess on my yard, but for the few days it's all full it really is beautiful!

103/365 From Ground Level

I was playing around inside the very tall pine tree on our front lawn tonight. I thought looking up would give a great dimensional look at how big this pine tree is.

102/365 Memories of Childhood

This is my parents house. It is also the only house I ever lived in before I got married. All of my childhood memories are in this house. I cropped it a bit on the right there is a steep driveway there. In the back of the house there is a large backyard and behind that a river. My parents are anxious to sell this house- in a way I hope they do because it will be easier for them but on the other hand this is where I grew up and I like being able to go "home."

101/365 Curly

I took this portrait in the photo class I am taking. I spent a while editing it for white balance issues and just cleaning up the background. I'm pretty pleased with the results :) I chose the theme curly because I love this guys curly hair!!

100/365 Costumes

This was Sean on Easter. He never asks for any toys or anything specific so when he asked the Easter Bunny for a chef hat and apron I went crazy trying to find one. This is him showing off his set with his new cooking set. Ohhh how I hope he'll grow up loving to cook!

99/365 Reflections

Oh I am sick over how backed up I've gotten on here! I have been taking pictures just no time to edit and post. I'm still training for my bike ride it's actually next WEEK!! I've only been up to 25 miles at one time on my bike and the ride is 42 so....I might have some good computer time next Monday if I can't move after the ride!!

This picture was taken behind the house I grew up in- which my parents are still in. I used the orton free action found on coffeeshop website http://coffeeteaphotography.blogspot.com/ . I normally don't actions but I really like the effect that this created.

98/365 Self Portrait (make your own #7)

I did not like this weeks assignment - self portrait - so I thought I would share my agony with all of you. The lighting in my house is awful - I tried an overhead light but I got dark shadows..this was the only one that I liked that was in focus..which BTW focus is very hard to achieve in a self portrait!! I might have used the self healing tool in the final version of this (after all don't we all want to look 20 years younger !!)

97/365 Grumpy

Sean wasn't as happy as Adam with the face painting :( He was supposed to have a pumpkin on his face but he fell asleep at a show that they went to after he had his face done and he was quite over tired when he got home. Not at all the smiley little boy I am used to taking photos of!

96/365 Feline Friend

I don't have a cat and neither does anyone in my family so when Adam came home with his face painted I thought...hey I think that will work :)

OK OK I know he looks like a bunny because of the hat but Adam SWEARS he was a cat! lol

95/365 Toys

I tried to get a picture of my kids toys but they are never neatly put away..at least I an clean up the dogs toys. He has a habit of hiding them under the couch he likes to dig and he'll try to "dig" the carpet then put the toy there.

94/365 Painted?

Oh I need to start walking around my house with my eyes shut!! I was coming in from taking the bike photo when I looked under my front door and realized that I really need to paint that stoop again :( I miss my apartment!

93/365 New

Oh I am sooo in love with my NEW bike. I haven't had a bike in years but since I started to spin the natural urge to bike came along. I am riding in the 5 boro bike tour around NYC on May 3 it's 42 miles!! Today I went 20 miles in about 1 hour and 35 min...I have a ways to go but I love my new bike!!

92/365 Recycled

You wouldn't know it from this picture but they collect our papers 2 times a month...so why you ask do we have so many papers? well my husband likes to go through each and every paper again before he recycles them and then he forgets to put them out!

91/365 Past it's prime

all I can say is it was a good thing I spent today cleaning...who know's how long that was in the fridge...YUCK!

90/365 Canine Companion

This is Cash...I have not been able to get a picture in focus of him since we got him in December (with the exception to the one where he was sleeping.)

89/365 On my table

Behind again :( I spent the better part of the day cleaning my house. When I was done I got my list and then found shots to try and get caught up. My boys gave me these flowers last week. While I love them on my table they are actually on top of the tv because I don't want the dog to knock them over.
