59/365 Break the rule of thirds

I feel bad that Adam is not in as many pictures but every time I turn Sean is so easy to capture..(Adam likes to pose and makes funny faces.) I cropped this down a little but I couldn't get his face out of dead center so I went with the break the rule of thirds theme. It will be interesting to hear the feedback I get at my photo class this week the theme was framing the photo - rule of thirds..oh well we can't always follow the rules now can we?

  1. Rules are made to be broken! This is a shot where his face is framed alright! He looks like he should have dimples....

  2. I'll bet that cheeky grin never goes away, especially if he knows that he is BREAKING THE RULE of thirds. Great shot.

  4. You can break any rule when you have a model like that! What a cutie (nobody will even notice)!

  5. Love the little guy's expression and how you have his hand being held by dad in the background. Its a wonderful shot, no matter whether you broke the rule or not....

  6. He's so cute. This is a great photo rule of thirds not withstanding but what I like best about it is that he is tightly hanging on to dad's hand.

  7. There's a lot of personality in this portrait. And the hood is a perfect "frame."

  8. Love the expression...and I agree...with him as a subject, rules are meant to be broken!

  9. Sweet shot. I don't think a wonderful capture like this has anything to do with the thirds thing. Landscapes and wider shots yes but this close you filled the frame beautifully. imho

  10. Great lighting. His skin and eyes look great here. The best thing about the shot to me is Daddy holding his hand in the background.

  11. He's worth every broken rule you can find! What a cutie! Sometimes breaking the "rules" rewards you with a better photo than you would have had if you had followed them to the letter! Closeups almost never follow the rule of thirds, but they are usually among the most appealing of all! (They are after all, rules, not laws! More like suggestions.)
