88/365 Growing

Ok so maybe Spring is actually on it's way!! I saw these little plants popping up at the park...not sure what they'll be yet, I guess I'll have to go back and check them out in a few weeks

87/365 Playground

This is a scrap book page I made of Sean at the park.. I used the Rule my world kit found in the scrapper's guide February issue by Irene Alexeeva. I went on a scrapbooking weekend and I finished 12 pages. I am not as productive as I used to be compared to when I paper scrapped and I think it's because I can edit anything I want now! I am much more critical than I used to be - not always a good thing.

86/365 Hangs on a wall

Well he was hanging on this rock wall :)

85/365 Chasing (make your own #6)

Ok this makes me dizzy to look at and I am trying so hard to get this technique cause I think it could be really cool. The idea is to chase the kids and keep them in focus while racing the background. We were taught two ways one shoot and move the lens in quickly at the same time or run and pull the camera back a bit. I tried both and this was the best I could get...although next time I need to find subjects that run slower than me - I couldn't keep up with them!

84/365 Follow the leader

Both my boys are finally getting on their bikes - hopefully we can get Adam off training wheels this year. Sean's little legs couldn't quite keep up with Adam but it was really cute to see him try.

83/365 Who put that there?

So I loved how perfectly aligned these picnic tables were and then it seems someone got laze and plopped one on top! Anyway I can't wait to see them all out on the grass so we can finally picnic in the park, this has been one long winter!

82/365 Childhood antics

I'm wondering if Sean really knew how his hand was placed when I took this picture. I think he was tired of me giving him direction and mad that I made him ride his bike for 1 1/2 miles to get to the park. Anyway I had a good chuckle at this - I did not see it when I took the shot!

I'm finding myself playing catch up again. To all the friends I've made on here I'm sorry I've been away I'm starting to train for a 42 mile bike ride so I've been putting more time into the gym and then just collapsing. I'm still taking my photo class but I'm behind in my edits a bit. Anyway hopefully I can catch up a bit this week - I thank you for all your comments and I hope to get myself more organized soon! Or at least figure how I can add another day to my week!

81/365 Logs

This was also shot at the marsh park. The interesting thing about this photo is I didn't convert it to B&W the color is straight out of my camera. The logs here were all decayed and washed out and against the dead grass it just came out with very little contrasting colors.

80/365 Trio

These birds were just begging for me to take their picture and they knew the theme too. When another bird went to sit next to them they scatted it away - it was very funny. I thought this begged to be in B&W ...what do you think?

79/365 Show us your bokeh

I took this at the marsh park in the Meadowlands right next to Giant's stadium. I only played with the levels a little bit.

78/365 Lines

I love the lines in this photo...I see them everywhere: the paver walkway, the iron fence, the buildings and even in the water a bit. I posted this is the creative contest this week because I also changed the blown out over casted sky to a nice blue sky.

To everyone that has left such nice comments - I am sorry I haven't been able to make it to your blogs this week I have every intention of catching up in the next few days. I really appreciate every one of your comments :)

77/365 Hair

I love baby hair - my 2 boys didn't have any hair until they were almost 2 - the peach fuzz gets me every time. This is my husband's cousins sister in law's baby (say that 10 times fast) he just was so good at the wedding!

76/365 Trailing Lights (make your own #6)

Happy St. Patrick's Day!! This is a shot I took tonight for my photo class tomorrow night. The assignment was to shoot with long exposure time and try to shoot a trailing light. I like this shot because it was the only one I got of a bus going by :) It was a fun assignment and I learned a lot ..and my kids got to go around that circle in the car with my husband 20 times!

75/365 Flowers

My husbands cousin was married yesterday this is a close up of her bouquet. I had a hard time trying to get the white lilies to show detail it was difficult to meter this shot. So much to learn!

74/365 Moving

I went back to the Patterson falls the other day and I practiced using my camera in manual mode. I was thrilled to get this moving shot of the waterfall. I love how silky the water looks against the rocks.

73/365 Death by chocolate (make your own #4)

My friends have this tradition where they try and outdo the cake they made the year before. I have to say for someone with no baking background the cakes they do are outstanding!! This is the cake my friends husband made for her birthday this year - "Death by chocolate" was the name of this. It's was an amazingly rich chocolate cake (which I didn't eat - I stayed on my diet!) that had a fondant person that was killed by a chocolate avalanche. Unbelievable creativity!!

72/365 Doors

Well this is another thing on my list of things to do...the garage door needs to be replaced badly. This is the front of it and as long as you don't pull up on it real hard you are fine! I really need to win the lottery!

71/365 Graffiti

It is so sad to see that this rock has been painted over so many times because stupid people continue to write graffiti all over it. Now granted sometimes the graffiti is beautiful and really these people should be doing art somewhere productive - but honestly what is the point of this?

70/365 Headshot (make your own #4)

This is my first attempt at a headshot...we were at the park and I said to Chris oh just let me shoot you here...I'm very happy with the results. Chris is going to send it to some casting directors for their feedback - I'll keep you posted. I had to add a small border around the page so the photo didn't blend into my blog.
A special thank you to a good friend for helping with the editing - I'll eventually get it right!

69/365 Oops

Well this is Sean's bed..this is what happens when Daddy sits on Sean's bed...ugghhh
The entire bedrail split in half. So, now I have a friend coming over with his tools to see if he can fix it otherwise we have to get a new bed :(

68/365 Candy (that would be me)

Oh how could I resist using a picture of me for this theme? lol! I went back to the waterfall today with the kids and my husband. I set up my camera and told him "just press the button!" I don't usually like pictures of me but this wasn't bad. So this is me 39 pounds lighter since July and only 10 more to go before I make lifetime on weight watchers!

67/365 Wall

Continued shots from work the other day, this is a little garden at the buildings entrance. I love stone block walls - I have one in my backyard that I built when we first got our house.

66/365 Jumping

Shot yesterday while playing around outside at work. This is my co-worker she was helping me shoot action! She got a little carried away!

65/365 Red

I was playing around with my camera at different settings at work today. I walked around the building with some co-workers also interested in photography..it's so cool to see how differently people see things

playing catch up

I just want to thank everyone for the great comments. I am playing a bit of catch up again so please bear with me. I am posting 5 pictures today and then I will spend most of my evening tonight looking through all your blogs and all I can say is WOW everyone sure is doing a great job!

64/365 Wheels

Ok so it's not the conventional way to ride a big wheel but Sean likes to push the envelope a bit.

63/365 Brothers (make your own theme #3)

It's not often I get a shot of them looking straight ahead so here they finally are 63 posts in Adam and Sean together looking at me :)

62/365 Rusty

This is an old air conditioner control box that is on my house. I have a habit of removing things and then later realizing that I can't repair what was underneath...so I am leaving this be. Hopefully my dad will see it and say - "hey we should take that down!"

61/365 Spiral

Straight out of the camera this was just screaming spiral to me! Now I hope that when the weather gets warmer this hose won't crack from being out all winter!

60/365 Grin

Finally I got Adam to stop making faces at the camera. We went outside when we got home today and I begged him to just sit still for one picture. Thanks Adam :)

59/365 Break the rule of thirds

I feel bad that Adam is not in as many pictures but every time I turn Sean is so easy to capture..(Adam likes to pose and makes funny faces.) I cropped this down a little but I couldn't get his face out of dead center so I went with the break the rule of thirds theme. It will be interesting to hear the feedback I get at my photo class this week the theme was framing the photo - rule of thirds..oh well we can't always follow the rules now can we?

58/365 Heart's Desire

When we were at Rockerfeller Center I wanted a picture of the "gold" statue but I ended up with a different theme all together. I was waiting for the people to clear off the ice and then this lone couple was skating back when the guy got on his knee and proposed. Everyone around the rink clapped it was very nice.
